  • Name and Email: If you create an account or contact us, you may provide your name and email address.
  • Call Logs: We record metadata about your calls, including date, time, duration, and the type of forecast requested. We do not record the audio content of your calls.
  • Payment Information: If you subscribe to our service, payment is processed securely through Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. We retain transaction records including amount, date, and payment method for account management.
  • Feedback: If you submit feedback via phone or our website, we collect the content of your message along with your name and phone number if provided.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver weather forecasts for your requested Canadian location
  • To manage your subscriber account and subscription status
  • To process payments and maintain billing records
  • To improve our service quality and forecast accuracy

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate Canada WeatherLine:

  • Twilio: Provides our telephone infrastructure, including call routing and text-to-speech. Your phone number and call metadata are processed by Twilio. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe: Processes subscription payments securely. Your payment details are handled directly by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Environment Canada: We retrieve weather data from Environment Canada's public weather API. No personal information is shared with Environment Canada.
  • Google Gemini: We use Google's AI to format weather data into natural spoken language. Your postal code or city name may be included in the request. No other personal information is shared.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterward for record-keeping purposes. Call logs are retained for up to 24 months. Payment records are retained as required for tax and accounting purposes. You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (TLS/SSL). Payment information is handled exclusively by Stripe's PCI-compliant infrastructure.

7. Your Rights Under PIPEDA

Under Canadian privacy law, you have the right to:
